The Ravens of ValhallaO’er desolate shores wept the fate of immortal flames
And into a Winter sun I bleed my dreams,
as a thousand years of love & war dressed the sky
Long-ships sailed to the otherworld upon Odin’s breath
Betwixt night and day I wandered, shimmering, peering
— Till my chalice of Dragons blood flowed but no more
I became a warrior lost in the stars, drifting, ever falling,
Until the shadows entombed my soul in Raven-lore

Lo the tempest eerie; ‘magick entwining spirit and flesh
Upon snow I awoke dreary, beneath winged-silhouettes
‘Couldst be, my Princess adored; — last of the Valkyrie!
I recall — myriad of
Will-O'-The-WispsThe wisps, the fiery lights that lead travelers astray
And if only they guide me to you
Show me the path, the destiny I choose
The wisps promise lies, but you do ... too

And my heart beats oh so heavily
The ghostly lights intrigue me
Would they guide me somewhere
Would they lead me somewhere

Hinkypunks, floating lights
Jack-o-lanterns, the beautiful lights
Myths and stories of the will-o'-the-wisp
But I just want them to guide me to you
Falling for AutumnI haven't seen you in months
but you're still just as beautiful as last time
your long hair flowing gently in the breeze
red, orange, and brown mixed to make a silky curtain of colors

It's been too long since I could sit and relax with you
hot apple cider flowing warmly down my throat
keeping away the slight chill you sometimes bring along

Your delicious earthy smell almost overwhelms my senses
with a calmness no one else can give me
I've missed your soft touch against my cheek
gentle hands pushing back my hair

The sound of your voice is a flurry of air
through leaves that have yet to fall
the crunch under foot while we walk hand
Dreams Are...Dreams are made of bloody pearls
From dark waters,
Where the mermaids sing
Songs of killing.

Their voices, sweet and harsh,
Are pure insanity.
It's desire for blood,
It's a wish for a new day.

Dreams are made of glass.
A single touch, and they may break.

Dreams are roses.
Red and white, the innocence of a drop of rain, or a tear...

Dreams are stars!
They shine upon us!
And, in our human craziness,
We can't help but want them...

Slump. In a corner of mess and distress.
Face crumpled into your hands.

The mountains and kingdoms the glories of fable
The weight of the power is snapping my cable,
The one I am bound to - the one that I made
My heart cannot guess your twisted charade.

Could I be me, and still be free
When I'm sure I have already swallowed the key.
It's not coming out, and nor is the doubt,
That I could love me for me.
Sanctum of Wine and Shadow
Upon one Night's tempest, my hunger did beckon ever darkly:
"In nomine dei Nostri Satanas Luciferi Excelsi!"
And in the perfume of immortality, I bathed deep and long ....

Within the labyrinth of melancholy, I am the black flame gleaming;
befallen in the mist when closed thine eyes
Harken thee, River's blush weeping scarlet in nocturnal ballad
In orphaned prophecy, I am the lust of sacrament —
dark enchantment wanton — Hade's syrup undressing in your soul
I have crossed oceans of time, haunted by thy gaze and lips,
lost in whispers of passion dripping like song into folding horizons
Eons spent, yet thy figure dark, I crave solemn

how sad it is that Pluto isn't
a planet anymore and I question
the symmetry of moonbeams and
why good is associated with the dawn.

Werewolves, vampires, and ghosts, oh my!
And here I was sure they were friends.
Bela, one night, for my neck did try,
till his cape got caught on the fence!

Am I dreaming or is it all true?
When Lon grew a beard I found it quite odd,
was it real or he used super glue?

Am I in Transylvania or what?
Casper came callin' one night, I was bored,
and then green-slimed me right 'cross the gut!

I say enough is enough is enough!
I wish to gawd these wackos would cease,
before I grow fangs, turn into a wolf!

Happiness is...
 the sun in the sky
the clouds puffy white
the wind in my hair
the scent of a rose

the moon up above
the stars all around
the sound of the ocean
the salt on my tongue

the top of the peak
the green on the slope
the soft grass beneath
the smell of the pines

the house on the hill
the glow of the fire
the bread in the oven
my soft feather pillow
Dew DropDew Drop

Parted without any goodbyes…
falling from the highs
fresh and beautiful!
Just falling freely, with no rule….
All those eyes watching,
see a bright smile, and sing,
"wonderful, delightful, how free!"
The real truth can anyone see?

As it dropped off the leaf,
all eyes gone and solitaire engulfed it's belief
of someone to understand,
that there's a frown behind that smile
None stretched their hand, let it dissolve in the sand
the dew drop's worth just lasted a while…
nobody to understand the story
of the one that lost it's melody,
waiting to be freed from melancholy:

I heard a wail so soft and low,
from the wood I caught an eerie glow.
As the night wore on 'twas louder yet,
I laid there still, did moan and fret.

To what did the lonesome cry portend?
I shivered to think 'twas near the end.
Could it be the death of a man was nigh?
I waited for my answer from up on high.

The men who dress in long white robes,
who spread their lies across this globe.
See there! Some who dress in red!
Their councils and decrees fill men with dread.

But the one who holds that staff so tight,
the one who's conquered in his might,
was he the one for whom she wailed,
or will they all go down unveiled?

A happy ending is pretty uncommon nowadays, specially in this society. Until we change the way we perceive things and leave the materialism behind we can never enjoy life fully. :)

On the other hand, great poem. Reading it wasn't a waste of time; Good job!

But,I still believe in happy endings. Nothing is that good or bad not to be real. I agree society is fucked up,but it's not about the society,it's about us. ;)

It is about us, yet we are part of society. That being said it shouldn't be much of a trouble, the problem is that we are molded by it and our behavior is much influenced on that presumption. So in other words, if you spend your time with highly intelligent people then you are encouraged to be as well, the opposite applies as well.

I, just like you, believe in happy endings, hell I even hope for one for myself. =]
